Group 64 Heating and Air Conditioning Index
Any time the air conditioning refrigerant circuit is openings should be plugged
immediately to prevent contamination of the system. Failure to close the system
immediately will cause damage to the receiver drier. As soon as possible after the
system is reassembled, a vacuum should be drawn on it, to check for leaks, and to remove
moisture from the system before it contaminates the receiver drier. Even if the system is
not to be filled with refrigerant for some time, a vacuum should be pulled and maintained
on the system.
